I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually happening.
